Environment (PACE) Survey Results, 2007
In May 2007, Montgomery College employees were asked to participate in a survey to determine their perception of the college climate. With a solid return rate of 21% of the total employees, the survey has given us valuable data that will assist us as we move forward and continue to fulfill our mission as a college.Hard copies of the report are available at the IT Service Desk and the Library Circulation Desk.

I congratulate Dr. Butler for having the courage to face the truth about or culture. This process will really lead us to become a unique and compassionate institution.

I’d like to see a plan for the college to do something constructive with the data. What are the plans/process for that?

I hope the college doesn’t get too many irons in the fire (Achieving the Dream, strategic planning, PACE survey, etc.). I think we run the risk of too much activity–without enough individuals who can move it all forward.
I agree with the general findings from the PACE survey, but I think there may be a bigger undercurrent of dissatisfaction on the part of the support staff than what the survey results indicate. I really hope we can have a lot of participation from support staff as we work through the issues that PACE uncovered.

Will the individual comments provided on the survey be shared? Written comments are often much more telling than the actual survey.

I hope that the college listens to the needs of support staff because they are different than faculty and the administration. I congradulate Dr. Butler for moving forward with this.
